Additional stocking duties include setting up and tearing down displays and performing inventory functions. Publix stock clerks also clean the store environment and remove expired merchandise from the shelves. A stock clerk may also need to answer customer questions and provide customer assistance during store hours. Stock clerks at Publix may need to display certain physical requirements, such as the ability to lift over 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
