Assistant Hairdresser

Although you can’t get the cosmetology license you need to cut hair before you turn 18, you can be a teenage assistant hairdresser and work at a beauty salon. There are a number of things you’ll be expected to do as a teenage assistant hairdresser, including keeping the salon clean, helping clients, and making appointments. You may even get to shampoo hair and help mix dyes as you get more experience and on-the-job training.
