As an Amazon Fulfillment Center Associate, you’ll be part of the Amazon warehouse team that gets orders ready for customers. This is a fast-paced, active role that takes place in various areas, including merchandise, make-on-demand, customer returns, and general fulfillment — in some cases for the super-fast (2-hour or less) delivery service.

Some of your duties & responsibilities may include:

  • Receive and put away inventory
  • Get customer orders ready and pack them up
  • Load boxes onto trucks for shipment
  • Use scanners to read bar codes on boxes
  • View prompts on screens and follow directions for some tasks
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Ensure product meets quality requirements
  • Operate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT), and work at heights of up to 35 feet. (Training provided)

You must be at least 18 years old to work as a Fulfillment Center Associate at Amazon. 

Sortation Center Associate  (Hourly)

As an Amazon Sortation Center Associate, you’ll be part of the dedicated Amazon team that is the first stop on the journey from the warehouse -- the sortation center. You will be sorting, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets, and helping to get customer orders ready for delivery. 

This role puts you in control of your schedule because you choose shifts that work best for you now and have the ability to adjust your schedule in the future, as needed.

Duties & responsibilities include:

  • Receive and sort inventory
  • Get customer orders ready for delivery
  • Use technologies like computers, smartphones, manage apps, and scan bar codes.

To work as a Sortation Center Associate at Amazon, you must be at least 18 years old.

Delivery Station Associate  (Hourly)

As an Amazon Delivery Station Associate, you’ll be part of the dedicated Amazon team at the delivery station – the last last stop before packages are delivered to customers. 

This fast-paced, physical role receives trucks full of orders then prepares them for delivery. You’ll load conveyor belts and transport and stage deliveries to be picked up by drivers. You may even be part of the team that is trained to use technology to handle heavy bulk items such as large screen TVs, furniture, and appliances.

Duties include:

  • Receive and prepare inventory for delivery
  • Receive truck deliveries
  • Use technologies like smartphones and handheld devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders
  • View prompts on screens and follow directions from some tasks
  • Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages

To work as a Delivery Station Associate at Amazon, you must be at least 18 years old.

Grocery Warehouse Associate  (Hourly)

As a Grocery Warehouse Associate, you’ll be part of the Amazon warehouse team that supports one of Amazon’s busiest services: online grocery orders. 

You’ll be working in a grocery distribution center – a large warehouse that serves as the hub for receiving and shipping the groceries that stock all of the locations where teams prepare online orders for customers.

Duties & Responsibilities may include:

  • Load boxes into trucks to be sent to sites for grocery delivery
  • Operate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT), and work at heights of up to 35 feet (Equipment training and certification are provided free of cost)
  • Receive and put away grocery inventory in room-temperature, chiller, and frozen sections of the warehouse. Working in temperatures as low as -10°F for periods of your shift
  • Use technology like computers and smartphones
  • Check for product quality

To work as a Grocery Warehouse Associate at Amazon, you must be at least 18 years old.

Grocery Shopper  (Hourly)

As a Grocery Shopper, You'll be part of the dedicated Amazon team that helps make grocery shopping a lot easier for customers. You’ll work inside a Whole Foods Market, preparing customer grocery orders for delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare grocery orders for delivery
  • Shop the store for customers using a mobile phone
  • Use technologies like computers and smartphones to manage apps and scan bar codes
  • Check for order quality
  • Communicate with customers about their orders through the app

To work as a Grocery Shopper at Amazon, you must be at least 18 years old.

Grocery Fresh Associate  (Hourly)

As a Grocery Fresh Associate, you’ll be part of the Amazon grocery team that supports one of Amazon’s busiest services: online grocery orders. It’s similar to a shopper role, except that you’ll be working in a grocery warehouse. But it’s not like Amazon's other bigger buildings — it’s more like the size of a grocery store. 

Amazon Fresh offers customers everything from cereal to ice cream to fresh flowers, so you’ll be preparing orders for customers, working in different environments – including refrigerated and freezer spaces for part of your shift. It can be cold, but they will provide you with the right gear to stay warm.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare grocery orders for delivery
  • Intake new grocery inventory and put away
  • Rotate tasks throughout the week
  • Use technology like computers and smartphones to manage apps and scan bar codes
  • Check for order accuracy

To work as a Grocery Fresh Associate at Amazon, you must be at least 18 years old.

Amazon Air Associate  (Hourly)

As an Amazon Air Associate, you are part of a dedicated team that loads cargo from the warehouse onto the aircraft – helping to ensure customers receive their orders on time. Plus, you’ll gain experience in a new industry that is transferable for an air cargo career. It’s a great way to launch a career, and Amazon provides all the training.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Load and unload aircraft and trucks
  • Remove tie-downs and other gear when loading and unloading
  • Prepare packages for sortation and load onto containers
  • Weigh, label, or make/break-down gaylords or air-containers

Amazon Locker+ Associate  (Hourly)

As an Amazon Locker+ Associate, you'll be part of the dedicated team that makes the return and pickup of packages convenient for customers at Amazon's Locker+ retail locations.

Locker+ associates are ready to delight customers with quality service, have an up-for-anything attitude, and thrive in an ever-changing environment. Associates work in designated retail locations – where it conveniently helps facilitate the delivery and return of customer orders.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
  • Assist customers with questions they may have
  • Work through problem-solving scenarios for customers
  • Receive, pick and stow customer orders, process returns, and prepare for delivery
  • Receive truck deliveries
  • Manage responsibilities for Locker+ location, including opening and closing site

Amazon DSP Delivery Associate  (Hourly)

An Amazon DSP Delivery Associate is essentially an Amazon Delivery Driver who delivers packages to customers.

Amazon has partnered with local Delivery Service Partners (DSPs), independent delivery organizations that help the company deliver thousands of packages to customers every day. As an employee of an Amazon delivery Service Partner (DSP), you will work directly for the DSP that operates out of a local Amazon delivery station.

A special driver's license isn't required, and you will be provided with a delivery vehicle. Amazon DSP positions include:

  • Full-time schedule, working 40 hours a week
  • Full benefits and competitive pay
  • 4/10 (four day, 10 hours each) scheduling available

Amazon Store Associate  (Hourly)

Amazon Fresh stores use cutting edge technology to make grocery shopping more convenient for customers, including the Amazon Dash Cart and Just Walk Out technology, allowing customers to skip the checkout line. Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no checkout required. And Amazon Style is a new retail store that features clothing, shoes, and accessories.

As an Associate at AmazonGo, AmazonFresh, or AmazonStyle you will be the face of Amazon and contribute to a vibrant store culture based on customer obsession, trust, respect, integrity, continuous learning, and fun. Duties & Responsibilities include:

There is no wrong answer to this question. Whatever your reason is for applying at Amazon, tell them! Maybe you have a friend that works there or you are intrigued by the rate of pay, perks, and benefits. Whatever your reason is for applying at Amazon, just be specific and honest with your answer.

Why should we hire you?

Why are they asking?  

If a manager asks you this question, they are trying to get you to sell yourself. They are wanting to find out how well you can communicate, while being positive and professional. You may not have any previous work experience, but you can still have relevant job skills like verbal and written communication, time-management, driving and understanding directions, etc...

What’s the ideal answer?

Know your strengths. If you get asked this question, tell them how you will benefit their business. They want to hear that you have good verbal communication skills, have a friendly and upbeat demeanor, and can give good customer service. 

Tell them that you are a reliable worker who will show up to work on time for every scheduled shift. And, if you are interested in a long-term career with the company, definitely let them know.

Can you handle the heavy lifting and other physical requirements?

Why are they asking?  

Working at Amazon can be physically demanding. They are asking you this question to make sure you can handle it.

What’s the ideal answer?

The ideal answer is to be truthful. If you can't handle the physical demands, this isn't the job for you. If you can handle carrying 50 pounds regularly with a lot of twisting and bending, then answer yes.
